Attaching files...creating report based on a subform result..

Hi I hope someone help me on this..


I need to attach any files in my form like word,excel etc and save it on database..and also I need to open it at the same time..please help me... and also im having a bit problem in creating a report based in the result of the subform..please help me..

Hmm, that would require an OLE Object field in your table.
Then you can add every type of object in the database by using an Insert and by a double click activate the original application.
I don't use it myself as it's a bit cumbersome, but it's possible...

To insert an OLE Object Field into a Table
1) Table, Design View
2) Enter a Field Name and set its Data Type to OLE Object
3) Open Table
4) Right click on newly created OLE Object Field for appropriate Record
5) Insert Object, Create from File, Select Link to Link to the File or unselect to Embed
6) Click on Browse, then select a File from Dialog
7) When in Form View, dbl-clicking on a Bound OLE Object Field will launch the Server Application in which it was created and allow you editing capability
8) Hope this helps.
