Query Design help for Parameter Query

Hey all,

I created a Query (in Design View) which asks the user for an "As Of
Date" which would
then display relevant data. I put [Please enter As of Date] in the
Criteria Row of the Query Design for the Date field. Is there anyway to
put in a default of today's date in the input box and allow the user to
change it to
whatever they want? Please let me know if this needs further
clarification. Thanks for all your help in advance.

I'm a newbie at this so if you can please give me step by step info, I
will be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance!

The parameter query like you created is very limited, and does not
allow setting a default value.
So you create a Criteria form, with a textbox on it for the date, and
perhaps even a button to pop up a calendar (e.g. from
http://www.mvps.org/access/forms/frm0050.htm) and a button to launch
the report (the button wizard can help).
Then change your query criteria to:
Forms!MyCriteriaForm!MyTextbox
(with the proper form and textbox name, of course).

Tom,

Thanks for your help on this. It does seem as if I need to create a
Criteria Form - I'm actually working on one now!

Thanks again!
