Report to query parsing

I have 4 reports which all reference the same query. The query prompts for a dept code letter which dictates which dept the query works. Is there a way to parse this code letter to the query from report?

Thanks in advance.

Create a Calculated Field within the Query that consists of the exact Parameter Prompt, e.g. LName:[ENTER Last Name]. Whatever value you enter for the Parameter will now be parsed to the Report. In the Field List Dialog, LName will now be displayed. Is this what you were referring to?

Try setting the report's Filter properties.
