Compacting and Registry Keys

Hi
I have a backend and frontend. A client of mine compacted the backend and
some one tried to lock in ( I think this is what happened) and now we can't
compact it anymore.

I believe the problem is a registry setting. Why, because if we move the
backend to another computer it works fine but on the original computer, even
if we move the backend to a new folder the compacting do not work.

If anyone knows how to solve the problem

Thanks a lot

Sounds like you have a locking file (DatabaseName.LDB) that did not
self-delete and that will hold a lock on the MDB file. It resides in the
same folder as the MDB so when you move that the problem is solved. If you
manually delete that LDB file you should be okay.
