Multi use dbase and workgroup

P: n/a
I've setup a new database on a local drive with a workgroup for multi
use and I also created a shortcut of the database into another folder
for easy access.

However, when a one user is using the database it doesn't allow another
user to have access at the same time, the database won't open for a
second user.

What am I doing wrong?

Any help is highly appreciated.

You need to spit the frontend and back end of the database, each user
has a copy of the frontend localy on their machine and access the
backend (the data) through that.

You need to make sure that all the users have full read write access to
the folder that the data is stored in as access writes to a second file
to control data locks etc.

Thank you Dan, it hasn't worked yet because I'm doing something wrong,
after splitting It seems that I can't find the front end db but can
only find the backend. I can't find where the front end with the
forms,querries, and reports is saved.

Highly appreciated your suggestion.
