Access has ready made queries to do this! To add a record from Table A to Table B you need to use and Append Query. If you then need to delete the record from Table A (your question wasn't clear on this) you need to use a Delete Query.

To get detailed instructions on how create these queries goto Access Help.

Enter: Append Query
Click: Append records from one table to another table using a query

Enter: Delete Query
Click: Delete a group of records with a query

After you get started, if you have any problems come back here and post and someone will help you!

Remember, before doing any major modification of a database, especially one involving record alteration/deletion:

BACK UP YOUR DATABASE !!!

typical sql syntax

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. insert into newtable (fieldnt1, fieldnt2, fieldnt3)
  2. select fieldot1, fieldot2, fieldot3
  3. from oldtable
  4. where someidfield = somevalue
where fieldnt1,3 refer to fields in the newtable, they must correspond to the fields in the select part of this query

if u have autonumber fields, u do not select them in the field list

the where part in the sql is optional, thats just for filtering, but it looks like u want that

where is this being run from, a form?
