how 2 build a database similar to Encarta???

hi everyone

this is my last year on Open University..and i have a graduation project

i choose 2 make it on MS access with Visual Basic for interfaces...

my idea is production of a Encyclopedia Database which is reference work offering comprehensive information on all areas of knowledge related to Open University Subject and other supporting materials made available to students for reading, study, or reference. Central mission of the database is to collect, organize, preserve, and provide access to knowledge and information. Beside this mission, AOU Encyclopedia database will support various educational programs. Students also will use the materials to perform their class work & assignments. I am playing to Create a custom Microsoft Access databases offers e-books, supporting materials, references, information on courses, tutorials, exams & test examples, and links to related resources & websites.

The basic attribute of my planned Encyclopedia Database for students:
Assist with searching & information for reports.
Provide insight into some of the most commonly read books related to AOU subjects & courses.
Help easily to create essay & projects with trusted references.
Provide a course materials as a multimedia encyclopedia for AOU students that help them understand courses concepts

and here the initial tables:



can u please help me to complete......or just give the guidelines 2 complete it

We have no problem helping you out on specific questions or any difficulties that you run into but this question is much too broad. If you ask a specific first question we will do what we can to help but we cannot complete the project for you.

My question is
If I want to view a complete Word Document with my database for example
When a user want to browse all available resource for (Digital Communication Course)
and I have the following resource
Tutorials (about 22 tutorials that cover 6 books)
Exams (Final Exams + Quiz that divided by years)
Assignments ( 6 Documents for question + ( 6 Documents for answers)

But the problem is that the data field in MS access does not accept the size of the document

So how can I overcome this issue??
Or is there another way that help the user to browse the documents??

Try adding an ole object datatype field to a table. Set the object type to word and play around with this. Then ask any questions you need.

Open University is an accredited online university which is based in the UK. It is widely recognised and a lot of their degrees are available to overseas also.
