Marketplace: Yellowfin reporting 3.1 with BIRT Integration

Marketplace: Yellowfin reporting 3.1 with BIRT Integration

Yellowfin is proud to announce the release of 3.1.

The major theme of this release is enhanced integration capability. We
have introduced a range of new web services and authentication
processes that allows for Yellowfin to be integrated into any
environment with ease. These changes include:

* Single signon capability
* Report List API
* Person Update Services
* Group Update Services
* Full Dump and Load capability for the Yellowfin repository
* Enhanced LDAP Directory

Yellowfin 3.1 makes BI even easier

At Yellowfin we continue our commitment to making BI easy with R3.1.
Apart from the usual improvements to base functionality we have made a
substantial amount of incremental interface changes and a major
enhancement to the view builder (the introduction of AJAX) to provide a
far better user experience. Usability and end user satisfaction remain
the key drivers for our development roadmap.

More Functionality

More formatting options for charts, improved user prompting and
enhancements to sub reports also improve the quality of the output
options available. Just because Yellowfin is easy to use does not mean
you have to forego the functionality you require. For those BIRT
users out there Yellowfin has fully integrated BIRT version 2.1.1.

So we say thankyou to all those people that provided us with valuable
feedback, suggestions and support for this release. Till next time.
The Yellowfin team!

BIRT
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yellowfin International today announces the release of 3.1 which
includes the full integration of BIRT into its Analysis and Reporting
platform.

BIRT is an Eclipse-based open source reporting system for web
applications, especially those based on Java and J2EE. BIRT has two
main components: a report designer based on Eclipse, and a runtime
component that will be integrated into the Yellowfin application.

"We are positive these new features and added complementary
capabilities will be well received by our current and potential
customers and partners", commented Glen Rabie, CEO of Yellowfin.
"We see the integration of production reporting as a key enabling
factor for ensuring Yellowfin provides an end to end BI solution for
our customers"

The integration of BIRT leverages the Yellowfin platform including
scheduling, security, dashboards, and its reporting and analysis
module. This enables users to maximise the capabilities of BIRT with
in an existing and proved BI framework.

Yellowfin the first BI company to provide full integration with BIRT,
reflecting the ability of Yellowfin's technology platform and
development team to deliver faster innovation compared to traditional
BI vendors. "Yellowfin has taken an innovative approach to enabling
users to maximise the potential of multiple BI products by providing a
single integrated platform for managing these applications," said Glen
Rabie, CEO of Yellowfin. "The technology and business approach that
Yellowfin has taken should make it simpler and more cost effective than
other traditional approaches for organisations to make use of BIRT into
their BI deployments."

"This upgrade clearly demonstrates the agility of Yellowfin's
development team and the company's vision in applying the latest
technologies to equip business users with the tools they need to make
better decisions," said Justin Hewitt, COO of Yellowfin. "With these
new 'mashboards' and the help of our community, we continue to deliver
the best of BI with a level of flexibility and value that simply are
not available from other providers."

Yellowfin's new BIRT integration is included with the latest release
of Yellowfin BI Suite.

Isn't that _SPECIAL_? Someone who can't even understand the prohibition
against spam in technical discussion newsgroups, repeated in a FAQ, but
expect us to be impressed with their BI product?

The FAQ is at: http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm. It contains the
Charter, which you will note does not specifically permit advertising, which
it would have to do, for advertising to be OK here.
