ACCESS HELP: creating auto ID (not 1,2,3) but with other combination such as prefix

Hi there,

i am trying to figure out if there is a way to have auto number (not 1,2,3) in access but as a prefix. For example:

1/1/2000
2/1/2000
3/1/2000

the first number as the client number
the second number as today's month (in this case January)
the last 4 numbers as the year

How do i create this validation rule and has the automatic number show up when i create new record?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I really appreciate it.

You need to do it in code.
Auto-numbers are long integers and can be random or incremental :(.
