I am attempting to create a report with sub-totals in the body of the
report and a total at the bottom.
how do I go about doing this thanks:
here is an example of the result I need to achive
Style: Majest
1002 Brown, Ed 0 10 13 14
1005 Judy, Larry 10 17 7 10
1007 King, James 28 0 5 5
Subtotal for Style: 38 27 25 29
Style: Paris
Grand total : Total of all styles . 60 80
700 46
Thanks! 4 1693
You need to create a group in the report. However, Access needs a way to
tell how to group your data. It appears that you are using the first 3
numbers in the field Style, so create a field that contains this information.
One way to do this is to modify the underlying query by adding a calculated
field:
StyleSort: Left([Style],3)
Then use this new field in the report to create your groupings.
You can also do this directly in the report by creating a new group: =Left(
[Style],3)
Then add a Group Footer with fields that calculate the totals.
