Updating Unbound Text Box using Requery?

26
I have a search function on a form where the user can search a number of fields in a table using one search term. When a button is clicked, a popup appears where they would enter what they are looking for that is then passed to the query to pull distinct rows and display them in a textbox. The user can then select what record they are looking for from the results and edit it. Once they are done, they will be returned to the original list.

I am trying to requery (or possibly repaint) the form that shows the search results to reflect the changes the user made. Is there a way to pass the original search parameter from the popup from form to form so that the query can be rerun to update the list? What would be the simplest way to accomplish this?

BTW, I'm using Access 97...

Thanks in advance!

Check my Access 97 sample at: http://www.geocities.com/nico5038/Sa...tAction-97.zip
and also look into the right-click instruction I give my users:

Let me know or this does help or that you need more assistance.

Thanks for the help. What you sent me is definitely helpful, but I'm still not there yet. I have around 9000 records and when a user searches, they may pull 2 or 3 or 100 based on what they put in for their search. The popup is generated by Access using the "Like[Enter your search criteria]" in the Criteria box of a query design. They select the record they want, update it, and then I would like to return them to their list of 2 or 3 items with their update reflected. I'm wondering how to pass the search criteria from the popup box to the form so that the query can be rerun without the user having to redefine their criteria? Currently, the list of 2 or 3 items form is returned to with no updates reflected.

Thanks.
