Subreports in MS Access

Hi

I have a parent report which displays records based on the start date & end date given by the user. I want to include a sub report or a sub form in the report. The values in the sub report should be based on the start date and the end date given by the user.

Can you please tell me on how would i pass values from parent report to sub report?

In the sub report i will a stored proc which accepts these dates and generate values based on that.

My first answer is you can't do that.

However you can tie the sub report to a filter based on the dates in the report record.

Do you mean that i will have to make my subreport get all possible values from a table and then while including it in the parent report, filter the records of the subreport? Can you please explain on how would i accomplish this filtering?

Thanks

You are basing your report on a date range based on some value in a date field on the report. If you tie the subreport to a record source containing the same date field you can use the wizard to show all records in the subreport where the date fields match.

Thanks a lot. It worked when i tied up the date fields in the sub report with the parent report.
