How Do I add a link to a file?

1
Greetings,
I'm creating a new database. I want one of the fields to actually be a link to a file on disk... as opposed to saving the file contents in a blob. I would greatly appreciate any help in guiding me through the definition. I can't seem to find any appropriate field types.

The goal is to have the user click on the link and launch the file... excel, word, etc.

Thanks in advance.

You're looking for OLE Object type which can be embedded or linked.
