When can we give control source of a textbox =1?

Control Source of the textbox is:

1. The field to which it is bound when the form is bound to a table or query
2. In an unbound textbox the control source can be set to =1 but this will make the value 1 for every record and won't store the value anywhere.

You may be looking for something called default value.

a) Set the Control Source to the field you want to store the value in as normal
b) Set the default value =1

This will default this field value to 1 for all new records. However, it won't work on existing records.
