If you are using Access's swichboard wizard and it's associated code this can be quite complicated.

If you are using your own form and code it's easier.

I am using wizard so it it might be safer if I attached a macro to the underling form to go to a particular record. I've not been working with access for long so not sure if a could sort out prolems if they arose. veronicamary

In the circumstances if a macro will do the job I would go with that option.
