Using a comobox to populate a few fields

Hi,

im new..

i have a combobox list with different mobile phone user names and i have some empty fields next to this combobox (such as imei number, mobile phone number etc etc)...............

i have a table called tab_main with all the details saved.

I need ur help.......... how do i filter these empty fields by clicking the specfic user name in the combobox?

Please explain in simple terms :)

Try this simple approach

1. create a form that is bounded to your tab_main table (u can use the form wizard to do this)
2. now u have a form based on your fone numbers, u can scroll thru records, add records etc
3. now u want to add a find feature i.e. this combobox
4. ensure the toolbar wizard is on (2nd button on toolbar) in forms design
5. add a combo to your form - the wizard should now appear. If it doesnt it means u havent switched on the wizard - see step 4
6. select the third option "find a record on my form...."
7. select the field u want displayed from the list of available fields, then click next
8. adjust the width then click next
9. Now enter a label, and click finish

u should now have a combobox and it has the code already done for u. select an item and it finds the record for ya
