Calculating value of a field in a subform based on value of another subform.

Hi all,

In my project of multiple forms (main form, subform1, 2 , 3 etc)
(Main form is Employees, Subforms are Attendance, salary details, payment)

Now i want to calculate the payment based on the salary details (Basic, Allowances etc) and the attendance (days worked and overtime hours). Overtime pay should be based on the basic only.

Maybe the following codes/syntax (from microsoft) will help.

To refer to a control on a subform, use the following syntax:
Forms![main form name]![subform control name].Form![control name]
To refer to a control on a subreport, use the following syntax:
Reports![main report name]![subreport control name].Report![control name]

Any other solution is there?

You can use those controls...

But to simplify a bit the things you can also create a control in your main form and bound it like the syntaxis that you've used to the needed field in your subform

Than for the calculated field you can refer directly to the field in the main form!

Certenly the user shouldn't see this field and you need to set it invisible!
