Order Numbers

currently am builing a access ordering system. I was going to use
autonumber as the order number but have heard that it is not recomended

to do this.
I have read that i need some code that will add +1 to the previou order

number.

Could any one tell me how to code this and the best way to do it so
that i do not duplicate any order numbers
Thanks
Simon

Try this as a default value:

Nz(DMax([MyField],[tblMyTable]))+1

using your own table and field names of course.
