Problem with autonumber and syncing with third party software

P: n/a
Hi All,

Hope someone can help me with this. I have some PDA database software
which sync with tables in an access database on my computer. It works
fine until you want to sync tables that contain autonumber. Basically
it won't allow you to sync autonumber fields because if you tried to
change the autonumber on your PDA database access will not accept this
on syncing. I don't want to change the autonumber so that is not an
issue but I do need to know what it is on my PDA database. I have
tried using a query to get round this but the PDA will only work with
tables. Here's what i think I need to do but not sure how to do it. I
need a dublicate table for syncing that contains all the data from my
access table but an extra number field that corresponds with the
autonumber of the record. I have looked at expressions but table are
not really designed to accept this. I was also think that when I enter
the data on to a form, I set up some code so that the information is
sent to 2 tables and some way copying the autonumber field into my
number. Maybe the tables need to be linked. Anyway I can't do it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,
