Command Line switch for backup?

Is there a command line switch for backing up an access 2003 database? So you could set it up in a batch file for instance.

Or any other simple suggestions?

You mean a switch you could put on the command line when you run Access, to tell it to back up the database?

I don't know of one, but perhaps you can tell it to execute a macro or query to copy your data, as you have done with the compacting.

Nope, not that I know off.

If u wanted to backup your db, why dont u just use windows backup?

using this along with windows task scheduler, u can automate the backup also

I can only guess you're thinking of the Backup command in other products like MS SQL Server.
Access doesn't have any such facility.
A backup in Access is simply to copy the file, as mentioned above.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just thought there might be a way to use the backup function in Access 2003 from the command line, but i guess there isn't.

Seems like it would a simple addition.

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\msaccess.exe" "C:\databases\northwind.mdb" /compact /backup

I guess windows backup will do just fine.

Thanks.
