Query Alias? Using the same query from multiple forms?

Hi;
I have a main starting query for most of my reporting. I branch out from this query to other queries. This main query contains multiple form control filters (query criterias) . I want to use this query from multiple forms because each report needs different filters on this query. Is there a way to to this like having multiple copies of this query keeping the name same, like an alias name? I would appreciate ideas on this. Thanks!

You can create the query your thinking of - let us say you call it 'qryMain'.
Then you can build other items, including other queries, which use qryMain as your record source, rather than just tables.

Use the query as a record source for your form. Then click on the button beside the property with dots on it. This will allow you to amend this query to suit the form. As long as you don't 'save' the amended query then the original query won't get overwritten. It will just change the record source ot a select statement build on the query.
