"Empty" report pages

Here's a reporting problem that keeps haunting me.

A lot of my reports give an extra page at the end, showing only headings and no data. What causes that, and how can I prevent it?

Thanks,
Jim

These reports were probably formatted for another printer.

Go to the reports in design view and try to reduce the length of the report by decreasing section sizes, in particular the report footer and detail sections.

If that doesn't work come back to me. It could be a lot more complicated.

Do you have any Section Footers (defined in Sorting and Grouping) that say to throw a page after (Force New Page set to After Section)?

The reports doing this are all going to the default printer, not formatted for a particular printer. And yes, two of them that I can think of are forcing a page break for each group.

This could happen a number of ways but you can test it by changing the bottom margin in the report's Page Setup (from File menu) and testing the results.
I can't, for the life of me, remember how to disable the last empty page without mucking up the rest of the report.
I have a report which has a separate page as a Report Footer, but it has 'Force New Page' set to None.
Maybe your report has a visible ReportFooter with nothing in it - that might explain it.

The other possibility is that a group footer is returning an empty record for the last page. Check your record source to see if that's the case.
