Merge form data into word doc

Hey all,

I'm hoping someone can help. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to access, but what I'm hoping to achieve is to click a button on my form entitled contacts, which opens a word document (a letter) that automatically enters the details of the open record (forename, surname, address) on that letter. All I have achieved so far is to open word.

Is this possible? If so, how?!

I am able to do a merge, but was wondering whether it was possible to do this directly by clicking a button on the form. It seems not!!

I think yeah,

But it's a hard work my God! Using Ole Automation!

If you are famillar with VB go in VB Access help and search
Ole automation

You need to know abaout also a bit of Word Basic :) ;) To accomplish it directly

I've never done it... Coz I use the reports in Access but the transfer for one record in Word is a good idea...

Take care my frien! With Word Basic you can automate the mail merge without opening Word - so see well the help from PKS :)
