Create 1 recordset from tables in 2 different locations for report recordsource

I am trying to avoid linking external tables using DSN ODBC's on clients. I have 2 foxpro tables in 2 different locations that I need to pull data from. I need to code the connections to them using ??ADO/oledb/ODBC ?? and create a joined recordset and use that recordset as the recordsource for a report. I can do it using 2 different ODBCs and linking to the tables but this means we have to create the ODBCs on every client that wants to run the report.
Table1 - c:\dir1\
Table2 - c:\dir2\

Select * from table1, table2 where table1.name = table2.name.

I've never used it myself but I think there is an option to define a file based DSN which might better suit your needs.

As for your SQL, would not an INNER JOIN between the two tables work more effectively (albeit giving identical results)?
