Loading images and hanging access

P: 9
I am developing a free resource offline UK swimming database under MS Access 2003 and I am trying to link competitors images via code in the main table to a form displaying other personal information.
The images are in the database directory and the photos are always named as the primary key.jpg but it was likely there would not be photos for each individual and so a dummy jpg file is loaded when there is none available.
A text link on the page via the imagepath box allows the image file to be changed.
In the formload

On Error Resume Next
Me![ImageFrame].Picture = Me![ImagePath]

Private Sub ImagePath_AfterUpdate()
On Error Resume Next
Me![ImageFrame].Picture = Me![ImagePath]
End Sub

A lot of the time it works well but sometimes the whole thing just stops and I have to break into the system to recover the dbase and there is no specific place or time when it hangs. It leaves a grey box on the screen saying importing data that stays there even when the dbase is closed and only goes when cntrl/alt/delete end task is used. It does not cause any subsequent problems but it is irritating when demonstrating to proposed users.
Anyone any ideas of what the problem is? and how to fix it.

Hi
This is a very good idea to use external links... I've never tried a solution like this...

Usually I use the Ole properties to do a link to an external files. For more info about it:

In this forum or in Access help you can search
.Action property
OLE automation
.class
olelink

There is a lot of ressources :)

Thanks for your help I'm fairly new to access.
But only just found the problem and solution
It was the On error resume which should have also had On error go to 0

I used this method to seperate photos from main table. Makes it easier when photos are limited. I load a blank.jpg if there is no photo available

Solution works well, data is held as text in dbase and it saves lots of space. Not my idea
