Advanced Report Formatting Resource?

14
Hi everyone,

I'm making reports that are based on queries, and the data has several levels of grouping.

I have set up a report with several nested group headers, but I'm currently stuck where either my data shows up multiple times (in the case that I have the data in the header section) or it has a big gap in spacing (if it's in the detail section).

I've narrowed down the problem to the fact that I have parents (group headers) that have the same data as the children in nested group headers which is the same as the children in the detail section.

Does anyone know of any resources for relatively advanced Access Report formatting? I've surfed around, and I find a lot of basic examples, but nothing when you've got even slightly complicated data...

Help?

Thanks,

Hi,

Pay attention with the grouping in your query...

Open your query first and see the result of it.. If there is repetition so the problem is in the query and it concerns the grouping!

Best regards

Can you post the query you are using for the report that may be the problem.

You could also look at creating subreports for each of the groups.

I don't think this is gonna help too much, but I get all my info from the help files then, if that's no good (whenever?!?), I look on the web - that's how I found these forums.
