Record Locking Access on File Share - HELP

Hello;
I have an access 2003 db on XP OS split with backend on sql2K. I want
to put the front end on a fileserver for easier maintenance. I have 7
users using the database at any given time.

We are experience locking issues. When multiple users are in database
they cannot save their edits. and sometimes users are locked out of the
database by ADMIN.

If I put the database front end on the users local drives, there are no
problems like this. They can all be in and save with no problem.

Does anyone know what is causing this. There are no settings in the
database that should be causing this either. I have everything set for
multi user and no record locking.

The directory on the fileshare is shared and no restrictions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, why then have your installed every other pieces of software on EACH
computer..but, then come along, and install your software shared on the
server? It is not going to be reliable (as you just found out).

I explain this problem here:

This utility:

will keep the front-ends up to date. Putting the file on the server
for everyone to use is not recommended.
