Problem with MS ACCESS and Excel

I am having a problem that shows up in MS Excel and Access that may be associated with a MySQL driver 3.51 that I use to link to a database.

On two separate computers, both with MS Office Professional, the Excel occassionally gets stuck in a cell highlighting mode (Like I am holding down the Mouse and highlighting cells.). Nothing I can do will stop this from occuring. I basically have to force the system to end the Excel application. Occassionally I will see a similar problem in Access.

Very strange. Has anyone else every experienced this problem? Any ideas how to fix it?

We had a slightly similar problem, probably not related. The user who was having this problem was not very experienced, and would hold down the shift key for too long, and sticky keys would turn on, which would keep the shift key held indefinately.

Long shot, but you may want to look at it, if you haven't got any other ideas!

We are having the same problem with excel, when selecting a single cell. Its as if i am holding the shoft key down, when i am not!

Has any one found a solution for this problem let, we are getting this problem while using Dell workstations and especially laptops connected via Docking Stations (using USB keyboards & mouse)

I am also trying to figure out this problem. This particular glitch has sprung up on me before and it was taken care of by unplugging the computer from its network phone and connecting it through a different ethernet port. We first thought that there might be a glitch with the phones and the computers but this problem only occurred in one of our sites. Not too long ago the problem came up again (highlights all cells that the mouse hovers and the file can only be edited via keyboard) and the method that I believed to solve this problem no longer worked. I then tried moving the computer to a different location (the next room) and it worked fine. This isn't really a solution but it is a quick way out.
Please let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks.

The sticky-keys answer is a possibility (makes sense) but another, older, way of keeping the toggle keys on was using certain function keys. I thing F10 was used for Alt. Try hitting the Function keys around F10 to see if that makes a difference.

Had the same problem. I fixed it by going to the Office or Windows Home Page and getting all the updates (crictical and non-critical) for the Mircosoft products and XP to include service Paks etc. This should work.
