"Chinese" letters all of a sudden

PW
Hi,

All of a sudden, some clients of our Access 2003 software are getting
Asian lettering in some text boxes, combo boxes, etc.... We have done
nothing to it.

Any ideas?

Sounds as if you have some corrupt records.

Try to delete them (or maybe even update them) if you get an error
message, that is what is wrong.

Get everyone out, go to the backend tables mdb
open it and do a tools / database utilities / compact and repair.

After you have done that you should be able to update/delete the bad
record.

We'll have to have them e-mail (if they can) their data to us so we
can do that here as most clients do not have Access installed (we ship
an .mde). Do you know of something we can purchase and ship with our
software or a way we can put something on a menu?

Thanks,

-paul

I can't think of anything of the top of my head. It will probably need
to be "zipped" since most email programs via microsoft will NOT allow
an mdb attachment. And that gets you into another set of possible
problems depending on the OS. (Zip is included in XP but NOT earlier.
