Calculate months between 2 dates

P: 3
Hello, I'm new here and hope you guys can help me out.

I've created a rentals database, but am completely stuck when it comes to creating a revenue report/graph. The basis for this query is the user will enter a start date and an end date and wants to see what revenue will be due during this period, this part is ok. It's producing the correct figures per rental, and giving me a total on the report.

But now the user wants the figures grouped together by month, so that they only see a single revenue total for each of the months between the 2 parameter dates.

For example, if I enter 'Jan1st 06' and 'Dec31 06', I want to see a total for Jan06, Feb06, March06 etc....

Can this be done? Can anyone offer any advice?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Create a query using the query grid. In the criteria enter this, Between [Enter start date] And [Enter end date] This will goive you your date range. Next, create a report based on this query. New Report>Report Wizard Select query>Select fields>next>Add grouping levels by date >next. Complete the wizards instructions. Preview the report. That should do it.

Hi Tanis,

Thanks for your reply. It's close, but as the user is only entering 2 dates, it will only show those months - whereas I want to see each month in between... I think I'll have to leave this aside for now and move on! Thanks for your help!
