Available Fields Blank

13
I've never seen this before.

I went to my sister's to have a look at a MS Access (XP) problem. She's created tables with data but when she tries to create a query, form or report using the wizards, the table names appear in the drop down box - but the available fields listbox is blank - for every table.

Creating a query in design view shows all the fields.

When I created a new blank database and added a single table with 2 fields and went to the query wizard it did the same thing.

I emailed that new file to myself at home and I've just opened it using MS Access 2003.... it did the same thing.

And now when I open any of my other databases I can't see the available fields in the listbox either - including for the Northwind sample database.

Has anyone else seen this? I have run it through virus scan in case it was some oddball macro virus or something but it appears clean.

Your help appreciated!

I have solved this problem!

Kaspersky Antivirus macro blocker was stopping Access from running correctly. No error messages were being displayed, it was just blocking the inbuilt macros from running.

I disabled the realtime macro checker and it immediately fixed the problem. All fields are now displayed.
