How to count groups of records with a query?

2
Hi,

Ive looked into this for an entire day and cant work out how to count a group of records with a field in a query. I looked up a lot of stuff on formulas but could not work it out. This is for an assignment, the data is fake :) The following picture is what i need, with a before (with studentid) and after (without the studentid column).

Basically i want to display a column within the query that shows the number of students in each class. Once i added the studentid field to the query from another table, i could then run the query and see how many ppl are in each class by counting with my own eyes, but how can i do this with a formula for its own column? Thankyou in advance!

I can't see the image but if you are trying to group a query use the sigma symbol on the tool bar when in design view and set a number field (studentID ?) to "count" in the total grid

Thankyou, that worked :)

The image is readable, but sometimes for some ppl's computer imageshack stuffs up. You just have to click back then click on the picture again and it shows up full size.
