runtime error 2501

Hi all,

I have an database created that I currently use on MS Access 02 and now want to use on a different computer with MS Access 03.

All the reports and queries run perfect on Access 02 but when i run the database on the Access 03 all the reports create this runtime error.

I know that the queries work perfect on Access 03. just not the reports....

I have already updated office and the computer is running under XP service pack 2.

I dont know if this could be due to settings in Access?
something that has changed from Access 02 to 03?
or settings have been changed in the operating system somewhere on the computer and its running XP? or different SP's?
or something completely that I have missed.

any feedback would be great!!

regards Robert Sheeran

What are the settings of your SQL version?

ANSI 89 or ANSI 92?

Take care about it!

hay thanks for the reply,

I am not to good at understanding all that stuff,

I looked under tools->options->tables/queries tab.

I did find the setting that said "SQL Server Compatible Syntax (ANSI 92)"
with a checkbox under it for "this database".

Do you mean that access 2003 uses ANSI 92, so i assume you need to convert the database to (ANSI 92) from (ANSI 89) in Access 2002?

Thanks for the help so far.

Rob

So if you aren't connected to MS SQL Server I think You need to disable tis option...

Close and reopen your database and try your reports!

Is there any change? Do they work?

Best regards
