How to do numbering on a result list in a report

13
I have a result list from a sport arrangement. This is shown in a report. To show the placement I have a textbox with the expression "=1". That result in first records from my query get the number 1 in the textbox, second record get 2 third get 3 and so on. However, sometime this is fault.

Imagine record just contain NAME and the result TIME. If two results have the same (time(3)=time(4)), I still will get 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 , and so on in the textbox, but it should have been 1, 2, 3, 3, 5, 6. Anybody who has a smart trick for this? May be some of you have a smarter way to solve this "problem"?

Microsoft's web site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q208946/ has good sample queries and result pictures that show how to number and rank your data.

Thank You jkantner.

That was a good link. Exact what I was looking for. Thanks a lot. I thought I had to do a lot of programming, but this was quite easy.
