sybase help....

1
in my GPRS network.. I have UNIX server...
I use SUN Solaris 9 with Sybase 5.8 database.....
our customer wants to access remotely and query some statistics from the database...
I should give them the right only for query the database, because they have s special application and they want to connect this application with our SUN server for query these results from the database...
now the DBA is not here and I should do this function.
I only want to know how can I let one user query some statistics only..??

Hi,
To query some statistics... Sounds like very general.... With those rights I can have permission to read all the information in the database... And If I can run Append or Update query to modify the information as I want... AND for delete Query Idon't want to think...

It's better to extract the needed information into different place and this informetion to be updated periodically.... It's more safe... But in maybe there is permissions by users to access the database...

Take care my friend!

:)
