Combo Box Problem - View Field doesn't show when bound column is a decimal

P: n/a
I have encountered a problem with displaying a string as a descriptor
to a bound decimal value in a combo box. Here is a sample data set:

Value Description
1.5 Low (Drop-down list displays "Low" and 1.5 is in bound
column)
2.5 Mid (etc.)
3.5 High (etc.)
10 Very High (etc.)

In this case if I select low, mid, or high nothing displays in the
combo box afterward. If I select Very High, then Very High shows in the
combo box after the selection is made. If the values were whole
integers then the description would display. If the value is stored as
a string instead of a double this problem does not occur.

Does any one have an explanation of what is going on, and even better
yet a solution?

Many thanks!!!
