Opening my database

P: n/a
Hi, I have a small personal database. Yesterday it wouldn't let me
open it and gave me the following error message:
The Microsoft Jet Database engine stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.
I've tried disconnecting the internet. And anything else I could think
of but nothing works. I have not altered or changed anything on my
computer recently. Do you have any idea about how to correct this
problem? Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Exit your database and delete the YourDatabaseName.LDB file (do NOT
delete the MDB file). This is the file that locks the database. Open
Access, select Tools/Database Utilities/Compact and Repair Database and
choose your database. This should fix the problem.

Thank you for the advice. But I've searched my computer for the LDB
file but It is not found. I am using the standard search engine that
comes with windows XP. Is the LDB file located in the database file?
or is it located somewhere outside the Access file?

It should be in the same directory as your Access file. If it's not
there then there's no way your database is locked.
