Access - Header Code

Is there any possibility to change the header code to access.mdb file like we use in dbase/fox wherein we change the header hex code and after change header codes, the file is not open his own program eg. the header changed .dbf file will not open with dbase/fox, again we restored the original hex to .dbf file, than it is open using its mother program like dbase/fox.

If the changing in header hex code is possible, please provide how to change the codes, and what are the original hex codes for .mdb or .mde file.

Dangerous thing!!!

You can try modifying the first bits but of a database that you can loose ;) I think that isn't the best way to keep your database!

Hi,

I think that it's better tho hide all your objects in the database,

To set up to your database a password

To Activate your Startup, hiding the built-in menus and the database window!

And your database will be nearly protected...

Some peopel recommend encode/decode database but before doing that make a copy of your database :)

I suppose that you don't want to use your database in network environnement only in stand alone so it seems Ok lke mesures!

Have a nice day!
:)
