Lock File

I have been trying to access the database while two other users are
entering data but i keep getting an error that " Could not lock file.
(Error 3050)" Why is this so... I have given the users rights to read
and write.

Maybe because the other user(s) have the underlying table locked
already? For instance, If a user runs a report and leaves the report
open on his screen, the table feeding that report becomes locked.
Check to see what your users are doing, it might explain why you're
hosed.

Are you trying to open the backend MDB in exclusive mode?
