Record-Level Security

Hi,

I need to set security at the record level of tables and queries. I need to allow some users access to all records in a table but I need to restrict the access of records within that same table for other users. I can't make two different tables. Any ideas how to restrict access to specific records?

Hi,
I have one! Instead to use the table for showing and modifying your data, you can do it using queries.

1. You can Save the tables with your information in a separate database with startup form and no permission to see the database window

2. You can do an other database where to attach tables, you can do also startup menu without access to the database window and from this startup menu you can open queries that visualize your information.

3. You can create read only query for an user and editable query for an other

4. Also you can lock certain fields of a query for one user and you can permit edition for ana other

I hope that this'll be usable

Have a nice day!

Sounds like it should work. Thanks!
