collection question

Dim colName as new collection
' add item key
colName.Add "sometxt" , "key1"
Set colName("key1") = "sometxt2"

why do I get an error on the Set line saying object required? Can I not
edit a collection item?

I'm surprised you didn't get an error on the .add line. A collection is
used to store objects, not plain text.
