Need help with sorting by date

I have a simple query of a table that includes the date field. I want the end user to be able to run the query and have it ask the user to enter the date that the user wants to see information from.

How can I accomplish this?

In the criteria section of the query, under the datefield column put the following:

[Please enter date:]

I have used the "Please enter date:" prompt but you can use any piece of text that makes sense to the user
