select unique identifiers

If I want to return only unique values from an attribute in a table,
how would I do so? The attribute may repeat across rows.

1. Create a query using this table.

2. Drag the field you want into the design grid.

3. Open the Properties box (View menu.)

4. Set the Unique Values property to Yes.
(If you don't see this, you are looking at the properties of a field instead
of the properties of the table.)

The SQL statement (SQL View on View menu) will be something like this:
SELECT DISTINCT Field1 FROM Table1;
