Distributing an Access program

P: n/a
I am writing an application ising Access 2000.
I bought a copy of Microsoft Office 2000 Developer Edition so I could
compile a distribute an executable copy of my application.

I also have MS Visual Basic Professional installed.
And I have Microsoft Office 2000 Premium installed.

The following message comes up while I am installing Microsoft Office 2000
Developer Edition:
"Microsoft Office 2000 Developer requires Visual Basic for Applications 6.0.
Before installing Microsoft Office 2000 Developer, Install Office 2000 or
another applicationthat contains Visual Basic for Applications 6.0"

Is Visual Basic for Applications 6.0 a seperate Microsoft package?

Can I upgrade Visual Basic 6 Professional to Visual Basic for Applications
6.0.

I would also be interested in contacting a programmer in the New York, New
Jersey area who is able to convert my application to an executable.

Please contact me at Bo****@hotmail.com

VBA is MSOffice's scaled down version of VB. If you have Access
installed, you have VBA installed.

I have seen this message, and off the top of my head I think there is
a Microsoft Knowledgebase article about it. I believe I ended up
running one of the other EXEs on the disks, which got the setup
program going without performing this check.

Thanks Manning.

Before I attempted to install MS office 2000 developer edition I went to
Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled my prior copy of MS Office 2000
Professional.

Then I started to install MS office 2000 Developer .
I am going to go back and start again and read the install instructions
very carefully.

Please check back in a couple of days and I'll post what happens.
Afain , thanks

Tom

Thanks Tom.

I have been beating my head agains the wall on this and I am going to put it
aside for a day or two to regain my sanity.

Then I will poke around in the MS Knowledgebase and I will take a look at
what other EXEs are on the cd and see if I can get it going.

Please get back to me if you come up with any more details.
