Change Default setting for the Search tool?

when our users press "Search and Replace" all is fine exept that they
ALWAYS have
to change the criteria "Match the hole field" to "Part of the field"
(ruffly spelled...(swedish lang)).
-Is there anyway to change/ add some code so that the search dialogbox
shows with this already done? That would make me happy

Thank you for any clue!

Go to:
Tools | Options | Edit/Find

Set Default find/replace behavior to:
General Search

There probably also is a SetOption that does the same in VBA.

Allen, is this app specific or for the whole of the user's installation
(ie, default behaviour will be set for all the user's apps)?

The option is stored under:
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\x.0\A ccess\Settings\
where x is your version.

It therefore applies to all databases opened by this user on this machine.

You're right, Tom. You can GetOption or SetOption on:
"Default Find/Replace Behavior"

I seem to recall getting frustrated with that though. With some of these
options, there seemed to be a delay before it was applied. Can't remember if
it needed a restart.

Thanks!
I have been in Tools | Options | Edit/Find before but it newer had any
effekt.
The key was to restart Access. I have version Access 2003
Thank you for letting me know! (On monday, I will be "The man" at the
office :) )
This is a simple issue you can say, but when users run in to it every
ten minutes, its not.
