Auto Inser Package Based on Hyperlink

11
Hi all,

I have a table in Access that basically contains 3 columns. The first column is an ID number, the second column is a hyperlink to a picture that's stored on a server, and the third column I have set as an OLE object. I now need the database to be portable, so instead of having the hyperlinks, I need the pictures themselves stored in the database. I have been inserting them manually by typing ALT+I+O+F+B and pasting in the hyperlink address, but doing that 15,000 times is going to take a while!

Any suggestions on how I can automate this process?

Thanks.

I'm searching also a good way to automate this... But my results aren't suitable... I've inserted 1 object programatically for 10 seconds! Its faster then doing it manually but not so effective...

In your case you have to wait ....

I think that it's better that your pictures are out of the database! And are you sure that your database can accept more than 15000 pictures?

The limit is 2 GB!

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

Technically, the database I described is split into multiple phases to keep the size down and it allows me to drag and drop only the databases (and information) that I need. I understand that the database is going to get extremely large, but I think once the data is imported it will work out.

I'll guess I'll hire a grunt to do all the imports. :)

Cheers.
