vertical property of a label

I am having a problem with a vertical label. I change the label
property 'vertical' to yes and then my label caption disappears and i
cannot figure out why. any suggestions?

It is there, but you just can't see it.

To see what happened.
Sit on the label
expand the size of the label so that it is about 1 inch by 1 inch.
Now change the vertical to yes and you'll see that the caption went
to the upper right had corner of the label but now in a vertical
alignment.
