accessing mdb files via java

Is there any way to read standalone mdb files using java. i.e NOT
connecting to the database via jdbc. i've searched this forum but found
very old posts. Any pointers will be helpful.

Hi,

Why would you *not* want to use the JDBC/ODBC bridge? Unless you can
read Access' binary format, I think you are out of luck, unless you
write your own C++ library that connects through something like ADO,
and then you reference it through JNI. If you looked up "reinvent" in
the dictionary, your java program would be pictured, though...
