Printer object in A02/A03

I know that Access 2002+ can run an application in Access
2000 file format without having to convert.

A few questions remain:

Can an app in A2K file format run in A02/03, and use the Printer
object? Or must the app be converted to the new version?

Do Reports need to be opened in Design mode in A02/03 to apply
Printer-related property changes (as they do in A2K with
DevMode) even if such changes are temporary, and not saved
to the report?

What if the app is read-only and/or MDE?

What about Access Runtime in A02/A03? Can it do what I suggest
with Printer object, or would that be considered "development"
and disallowed?
