Windows Backup

P: n/a
Although the company has a backup strategy, as it is my work at risk, I would
like to have my own backup.

I was using Windows Backup but I have notived that seesm to omit databases
(BE's) that are in use.

Have I missed an option/setting or is this correct? If so, what are my
options.

Thanks

It has been my experience that most (if not all) backup programs
exclude all files in use including any of the other ms-office products.

use something like Arvin Meyer's KickEmOut (www.datastrat.com) . If
you want to quit the app at a specific time, you could have a form that
checks the current time every X number of minutes, and if it's the time
you want, run Arvin's code, and then quit the app. then everything
will get backed up as it should.

Thanks folks.

I do have a KickEmOut type function already in there but did not want to use
it for this.

I've opted for an out of hours back up routine using another networked pc.
